Originally set up over 25 years ago (April 2000), many changes had been made before the last update in 2024 (until end 2022). Since then, I have been busy with other stuff, especially abolish discount process for long-term financial entities. Having updated some of the numbers until the end of 2025, I do intend to continue updating this website, even though the concept is based upon discount rates. Allowing for currency fluctuations, I have also looked at investing in US compared with UK. A few points that were originally here have been moved over to www.discrate.com and those have been signposted.

Having tried a few web editors, I eventually chose to use NetObjects Fusion in around 2000, upgrading versions over time. The vendor closed down for the second time in around 2015 and I have been using unsupported software for 10 years but it worked - until now. Having switched to a new laptop with Windows 11, I found that neither the in-program sitemap component nor the excellent external sitemap component graciously published by Kai Toedter worked any longer (everything else did). Trawling through around 30 free or paid alternatives led me to nothing that worked the way I wanted so I used Excel for a cell structure, Jon Peltier’s wonderful image extraction and manual links so that I had at least some sort of guide, perhaps less elegant than I like. That leaves me with the problem of what I use next but I expect I’ll find a solution, possibly using Claude.
